The Birmans Club joins the "Italian Observatory on feline HCM", to aid the development of a scientific research on the Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. 
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (CMI or HCM) is a primitive cardiac disease genetically inherited as autosomal dominant and high grade penetrance depending on the age of the cat.
The expression is variable both for felines and humans, clinical and echocardiography signs mostly show up at middle age.
That’s why, despite all of the scientific and diagnostic improvements, there are yet important causes regarding early diagnosis, etiology, course and treatment.
